One Hand Clapping: Zen Stories for All Ages
Published in Hardcover by Rizzoli (May, 1995)
Authors: Rafe Martin, Manuela Soares, and Junko Morimoto
Average review score:

beautiful!
This book is full of great storys full of wisdom. the best part is that no matter when you read them or what your going through these storys offer insight for everything! amusing and colorful!

Beautiful, Simple & Touching Book
I read this book while sitting in a book store one day after not being able to put it down. It is a compilation of simplified tales and fables from the Zen perspective. Though this is a book intended for children I think many adults would appreciate this book to and this would make a great book to read to a child. The tales are very simple yet hold a lot of deep meaning and one could think about them a long time while gleaning new insights. The illustrations are neat too. Over all a very gentle and beautiful book which I would highly recommend. I am getting a copy for my mom for Christmas!

Palmistry Revealed: A Simple Guide to Unlocking the Secrets of Your Hands
Published in Paperback by Heian Intl Pub Co (September, 1997)
Author: Paul Fenton-Smith
Average review score:

Excellent Palmistry Information
I found Palmistry Revealed to be of excellent quality. I find that Paul Fenton-Smith's books, including Tarot Revealed and Astrology Revealed, are very good at explaining and demystifying metaphysical material for the average person who does not have an extensive background in this field. His language is very straightforward, and his examples are very clear to understand and follow. I use his entertaining books as a reference whenever I am doing palm, tarot or astrology readings and I find his perspective helpful and refreshing. Highly recommended...

Palmistry is clear at last.
Palmistry Revealed is an in depth yet straight forward look at hand reading and Paul gives memorable examples from his own readings which bring it all to life.

The use of photographs of each of the five hand types is a bonus, as most books use only hand drawn illustrations which all look the same to me.

The only thing lacking is that it doesn't include more unusual signs and markings, but as an introduction to palmistry it is good reading and I was left wanting more.

The health reference at the back is a valuable recourse also. In the end it's Paul's stories which helped me to remember the basic information as they anchored it all in my mind.

Palmistry: The Language of the Hand
Published in Hardcover by Random House Value Pub (June, 1999)
Authors: Cheiro, Cheiro the Palmist, and Cheiro Cheiro's Language of the Hand

More Than Just Palmistry
I read this book over 34 years ago, when "the new age" was not yet mainstream. When books of palmistry, astrology and other esoteric subjects were found in perhaps only one bookstore and called "Occult."

A renewed interest in the subject of palmistry recently prompted me to look for this work by Cheiro. I was delighted to see that indeed it had been reprinted. And even more delighted to read the personal thoughts of Cheiro which surprisingly mirror many of my own - so many years later.

For serious students of palmistry I feel this book is a must and for those simply interested in the subject as yet another look into the mysteries of life, they will not be disappointed by this easy to understand look at a very poignant subject.

Good for the Beginners as well the Professionals
Cheiro brings this art of Palmistry from the root of India to almost everyone who wants to know about their destiny and he does this in a very elaborate manner so that one would become a pro. after he read this book. Hats off to Cheiro.

Peanut Butter and Jelly
Published in Paperback by E P Dutton (January, 1992)
Author: Nadine Bernard Westcott

My 2 1/2 year old doesn't stop asking for this one!
My 2 1/2 year old daughter LOVES this book. Every night before we go to bed, she asks to read "Peanut butter, Peanut butter". She's already learned the rhymes, I say a part, and she knows when she needs to chime in! I also love Nadine Bernard Westcott's illustrations -- I've begun to search for and buy all of her books! Truly enjoyable for both the child and the adult!!

My five year old loves this book and can read it!
I had to buy this book because my five year old daughter keeps checking it out of the library. When I told her she had to check out another book this week she said, "Why, Mom? This is a GREAT book!" That is definitely one to have on our shelf. The pictures are delightful and the repetitive phrasing makes it easy to read yet there are some tough words which she has mastered because she knows the phrasing. I wish every book I purchased would pay off so well. She also said, "Mom, if you look at the pictures you just have to giggle."

Piano Concerto No. 1 in d Minor: The Composer's Original Arrangement for Piano Four Hands
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (November, 1996)
Author: Johannes Brahms
Average review score:

What a treat!
What may at first seem as a mere oddity, is actually a wonderful and extremely clever transcription. The ingenious concept in this arrangement is the synthesis of the piano part and the orchestral part into one big scheme, which is then cleverly divided between the two players, as opposed, say, to a piano vs. orchestra parts,as it would be in a regular "Klavierauszug" (clearly impossible in a one-piano four-hand setting). Both parts are more or less equal in difficulty, and even though it's not an easy ride, it's much less taxing than the original piano solo part in the op. 15. Advanced piano players will enjoy this wonderful arrangement enormously. As another reviewer wrote about Mozart piano 4-hands pieces - playing piano 4 hands is more fun than the law allows, and I might say that playing this arrangement is no exception to this observation.

Espero que sea una partitura del concierto
No hablo inglés. Como lo anuncié arriba, espero que lo que estoy comprando sea una partitura para el concierto No 1 de brahmns, que estoy muy interesado en comprar y acá en Colombia no he podido conseguirla.

Planets in Transits: Life Cycles for Living
Published in Paperback by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. (May, 2002)
Author: Robert Hand
Average review score:

The Definitive Book on Planetary Transits
Most astrologers regard "Planets In Transit" as the definitive book on transiting planets. In Hand's own words, "a transit occurs whenever a planet, moving in its orbit during your lifetime, forms an aspect to a planet, the Sun, Moon or any of the house cusps in your natal horoscope" (p. 3). In this book, Hand reveals what "you are most likely to experience, emotionally psychologically, and circumstantially, under each transit" (p. 3). Since modern astrology is geared toward self-empowerment and most astrologers shun fatalistic interpretations, this book provides you with the basis upon which you can choose suitable directions to harness the energies of planetary transits. Consequently, a great benefit of understanding transits is that you can expect and plan accordingly for them, since they function within time. Armed with that awareness, your potential for success in handling both easy and challenging transits is quite good.

As with all of Hand's books, this text is easy to read and informative. Hand's writing style is positive and insightful, and the cookbook format makes a nice handy reference guide for both beginners and professionals. If you are new to astrology, then this text is great to own. Originally published in 1976, this book has been a standard classic in most astrologers' library and is as insightful today as when it was first written.

a shining spark on hazy horizon
The book brought by Robert Hand is a "magnum opus".In this book I find not even a single word of waste or repeating the same again and again.Hither to Astrology was mainly dealing with results of aspects from Radical planetary positions to yearly progressions.Almost in all, writers did not attach much importance to transitions. The book deals all transitions of planets from Sun to Pluto. And the aspects of transitions to Ascendent and Mid-heaven also.It is a very useful book to be kept on the table of a beginner aswell with a professional.I appreaciate the language, manner in presenting the matter and the authoritative command on the subject. The book contains all the subject without wasting the pages with endless sample horoscopes. The book is a BRISTLING STAR in this subject and stays shining for ever in the Galaxy of Astrology Books.(I am 60 yrs. old and having an experience of 40 yrs.)

very helpful and practical
I am very impressed with the book. It is a great resource for parents with children with special needs. It is full of practical, helpful ideas.

Playing the Hand thats Dealt to You
An informative, emotional and inspirational book. A must for anyone who deals with children who have special needs. You certainly don't have to be an "exceptional parent" to learn some great lessons from this book, about life in general, and special children in particular.

The Promised Hand
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (March, 2000)
Author: Susan Wolfe
Average review score:

A Passionate tale
With great insight into human passion, both from a female and male perspective, the author conveys the joys and anguish of love and how it can be a compelling force in our life choices. This story draws you into the lives of three people you'll never forget, with fascinating detail about Jewish family life and traditions. You may not agree with what Isaac did, but you will sympathize with his predicament. Wolfe is a warm, sensitive and often witty writer, who shares an amazing tale.

A Conflict of Love and Honor
It is early 20th century America and arranged marriages among Orthodox Jewish families are still the norm. But American values and norms beget opportunities in conflict with the old world ways. In this love story of a religious man, his promised wife and the woman he loves, we follow fifteen years through the eyes of the two women. "The Promised Hand", a fictionalized account of a true story, is written with thoughtful intuition and creates for the reader a series of portraits of the women and men caught up in the conflicts created by their changing times.

You gently close the book having learned to care about the people (no longer characters) and wanting to know how they lived out the rest of their lives.

Pyramids!: 50 Hands-On Activities to Experience Ancient Egypt
Published in Library Binding by Turtleback Books Distributed by Demco Media (May, 1997)
Authors: Avery Hart and Paul Mantell
Average review score:

wonderful creative ideas
This book is packed with many wonderful creative ideas to help children become very involved in learning about ancient Egypt. I was really impressed. We homeschool and found this to be one of the best purchases we've made while learning about this ancient civilization. I should note that online the recommended age is 9-12. However, on the back of the book it is clearly printed for kids ages 6-12. My daughter is 7 and we found it to be age appropriate.

What an asset
THis book is jam-packed with great activites and information. I have went through it numerous times and found new things everytime I pick it up. The activities are not difficult and do not require alot of expense to create. I really enjoyed the animation and colored type. It is nice to look through a book that is made appealing and is well illustrated.

Schooling Horses in Hand: A Means of Suppling and Collection
Published in Hardcover by Trafalgar Square (August, 2001)
Author: Richard Hinrichs
Average review score:

GREAT, but for professionals!!!
I'm a reader from Germany and I've met Richard Hinrichs a few times. He actually gives some of my friends lessons and I think he's one of the greatest horseman of the 21st century. His book is well-structured and easy to understand and you can almost "feel" the sensitiveness in his way to train horses, but it's necessary that everybody who want to go "his" way with horses had lessons in the past and experiences with this kind of classical dressage.
So is this book really great for professionals and for look up in connection with a professional training but bad to get completely new in this science!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT!
...His book is well structured and good to understand, but it's better to have more experience in working with horses and especially in classical riding. Who don't want to ruin the horse has to take lessons by an well trained horse man, before...
But: The book is really great, check this out!!!!!
